This is me playing with my toy camera made from Crystal beer cans in Havana Cuba. I am a retired physician, I teach photography at a local University-Appalachian State University- in Boone, NC. I love living up here in the High Country. The weather, the people, and the scenery are all terrific. Never a shortage of things to photograph. I have had the good fortune to lead several overseas student workshops through the International Programs in the College of International Studies at the university. Three went to Cuba, then we lost our permit for Cuba, along with most other schools; the next went to Central Europe. I am now getting old enough that I want to go to more civilized places. Have actually thought about doing a workshop trip right here in the USA with some students, but I don't know how many would be interested. I decided to bite the bullet and even with the euro so expensive a group of us went to France this past spring and it was a terrific trip. Oh yeah. I learned a little bit about photography in my career which related to medical imaging, and then by my own self teaching and going to workshops. I have learned the most from the students I teach and I thank each of them. Please email me about anything on your mind.
